Trending: Vacci-dating

Dating through this pandemic has meant adapting, just like everything else in our life. Naturally, that means new dating terms and trends. When we look back a year ago, we never thought there would be dating slang named after Dr. Anthony Fauci, and we never could have dreamed that the “Vaccine Selfie” would become a staple on dating apps.

But that’s the beautiful thing about the dating world, it’s ever evolving. As first date experts, we are always staying one step ahead of the dating scene. So naturally, we wanted to see just how much the vaccine would really affect singles. So, we took a survey asking, “Would being vaccinated change the way you date?”

Aren’t you interested in how singles responded? We definitely were!

Singles who said, “Yes, it would affect how I date.”

The singles who answered “yes” are eager to date, and they had many ideas on how their dating world would look post-vaccine. Some singles were open to begin meeting in person again, with or without masks, as long as they were vaccinated. While others still liked the idea of dating in a virtual setting where they have the opportunity to discuss more specifics on COVID comfort levels.

Singles who said, “No, it wouldn’t affect how I date.”

Honestly, we were surprised to find that out of the singles we surveyed, about half had indicated that being vaccinated would not affect the way that they dated. That’s right - people still want to date and meet “the one” no matter what! The things that would affect their dating, however, were direct the choices of those who they would be meeting. Such as, making sure the person they’re meeting has been staying safe, wearing a mask in public, limiting their attendance at large social gatherings and so forth. So for those who don’t need a vaccine, they do need open and honest communication.

Overall, we are still seeing that connections are just as important as ever. The one thing that singles seem to need is comfort in knowing their health and safety are being considered and respected as they continue dating.
