Single? Don’t be spooked by Halloween!

Americans love their holidays, and Halloween ranks as their 3rd favorite, just behind Christmas and Thanksgiving. And anyone who believes Halloween is just a kids holiday is truly missing out! For adults it’s a great time to be single, looking to meet other singles.

Why is that, you ask?

While most other holidays tend to be more family focused, Halloween draws single friends to don their favorite costumes and hit the town ready to mingle. Yes, there are Halloween get-togethers, pub crawls, haunted houses and so many more happening all around creating many ideal settings to meet someone - making it one of the most social holidays of the season. Whether it be a friend of a friend, someone new at a bar, or even an excuse to plan a second or third date with someone you’ve already met, the opportunities are endless.

But why exactly are Halloween celebrations such a hit with the single community?

It’s simple. Can you think of an easier conversation starter than to ask them about their costume? No need to rack your brain coming up with an opening line because you have a built-in fun reason to approach someone! Plus, it creates natural segues to get insight on their likes and their interests. Why did they choose the costume? Is it from a show, book or movie they enjoy? And just like that you’ve easily started the conversation, so just keep it flowing with light, fun banter and questions to get further acquainted.

Also, there’s something to be said about dressing up in your favorite costume. I mean, who doesn’t love a bit of mystery? Who is really behind that Clark Kent costume? The anonymity can bring a whole new sense of excitement to the meet-cute and it may just give you the extra confidence to walk up to the person who caught your eye and strike up a conversation that leads you to your next relationship!
