5 Holidating Ideas

The holiday season is one of our FAVORITE times of the year for setting up dates. While we are still working to set you up in a virtual setting for your first date, we are also here to give you great ideas when you and your match hit it off! Here are some of our favorite holiday date ideas.

Get active outdoors

Sledding isn’t just for kids! There is no shame in enjoying the snow to its fullest. Dress in your warmest clothes and head to your nearest sledding hill! You and your partner can have fun all while embracing a thrill from your childhood.

Ice-skating can be a really romantic date! Skating around the rink together can set the tone for your date and bring you closer. Even if it’s been years, brave the ice (it’s okay if you fall once or twice) it’s sure to make for a fun and memorable experience. Warm up after ice skating with a couple mugs of steaming hot cocoa!

Light up date night

One of the most beautiful things about the holiday season are the lights, and going on a holiday light tour is a terrific date idea! Whether you sign up for a tour or take matters into your own hands and peruse the neighborhoods for the “best-dressed” houses or downtown district, it is sure to be a memorable evening.

If you are taking it into your own hands, it’s worth doing a little research before you go to make sure you’re hitting the neighborhoods with the best lights. You can cruise around with your date and listen to a holiday playlist to really get you in the spirit of the season!

Add a little spice

Take a virtual cooking class together in the comfort of your own homes. Look up a cooking class, or holiday recipe that you can follow along together. It can be such an intimate experience creating something to enjoy with one another.

And why not top off the night by cozying up to a holiday movie? With the cold weather, it will be nice to stay in with ample cuddle opportunities.

Pro-tip: because you’re at home, you can really pull out all the stops to impress your date; adding thoughtful nuances throughout the evening such as a warm fire crackling or sipping a creative night cap with a holiday twist will enhance your evening.

Embrace the holiday spirit

Make your date a true Hallmark movie dream date! Go to your local holiday market and wander the shops for gifts or knick-knacks together. While you’re there, grab yourself a cup of eggnog or some peppermint bark and treat your date’s taste buds to flavors of the holiday!

You can also see if anywhere local is offering a horse drawn carriage ride. There is nothing more romantic than cozying up to your date while enjoying a winter wonderland experience.

Past, present and future traditions-

What are your favorite holiday traditions? Sharing your traditions or memories will give your date a glimpse into who you are and what is important to you during the holiday season. Whether that be giving back, decorating gingerbread houses or delivering cookies to all your family and friends, include them! Not only is this a great way to spend time together, get to know each other on a deeper level, it will also create a foundation to build on in the future.

And please remember this holiday season, to make sure to adjust your plans based on your state’s current guidelines when dating in public - remember interacting with a mask protects those around you...and safety is sexy!
